Description

Cereal Rye used as forage or hay for livestock in pastures or grain for harvest. Also beneficial for nematode control and widely used in cover crop blends. Wildlife will browse the forage and eat the grain produced in the spring. Grows fall through spring. Best cold tolerance of the small grains. Produces more fall than spring forage. Most productive cool season annual grass on soils low in fertility, well drained, and sandy. Plant 100-120 lbs per acre broadcast or 80-100 lbs per acre drilled, at 1-2 inches deep.
