Description

‘Hickory King’ is a variety of corn that was introduced by A. O. Lee of Hickory, Virginia. He developed the variety from a single ear of corn that he had received in 1880. Described “This new white field corn has proved entirely distinct from all other varieties, and has unquestionably the largest grains, with the smallest cob of any white corn ever introduced.”

Hickory King White is one of the largest field corn varieties you can grow, producing 12-13′ tall plants with two large ears per plant. Hickory King has tight husks that help prevent pest infestation. This variety does well in most soils. Maturing in 90-110 days.

Excellent for roasting, grits, corn meal, and tortillas. Also, has a high leafy green matter which makes it perfect for silage.
